Itinerary Lofoten Photo Tour

Day 1 Arrive in Leknes airport

We will start from the Leknes airport, meeting here and driving to our cozy accommodation in Hamnøy. As the sun dips low on the horizon, we’ll photograph the iconic views of this stunningly beautiful village. If the weather allows, we’ll have our first night photo shoot capturing the mesmerizing Northern Lights; it will be an experience to remember.

Days 2-5 Exploring the Heart of Lofoten

The next couple of days will be spent discovering many hidden secrets in the surrounding Leknes area. Every location, from the beautiful beaches of Vik and Uttakleiv to the scenic town of Nusfjord, is a new episode telling its unique story image-wise. We will spend our days in shoots, and edit on a daily basis to teach you how to bring your images to life.

Days 5-8 Iconic Landscapes of Hamnøy and Reine

After a sunrise shoot, we move to our new base in Hamnøy. We will photograph the iconic sites of Reine and Sakrisøy, and if conditions allow, visit one of the area’s beautiful waterfalls. Each night, we will continue our quest to capture the Northern Lights, taking advantage of the long winter nights.

What is the skill level required for this Lofoten photo tour?

Our tours are designed for photographers of all skill levels, from beginners to enthusiasts. We provide guidance and support to help you improve your skills throughout the tour.

What photographic equipment should I bring?

We suggest bringing a mirrorless or DSLR camera, with a wide angle for landscapes, a standard lens, and a telephoto of around 100mm-400mm. Also some batteries, chargers, memory cards, a tripod, and a headlamp. A drone is highly recommended for this tour!

How should I dress in Norway during winter?

Photographing in the Arctic requires appropriate clothing to stay warm and comfortable. We suggest dressing in layers to adjust to changing weather conditions. Essential items include:

  • Thermal base layers
  • Insulated mid-layers
  • Waterproof and windproof outer layers
  • Warm hat, gloves, and neck gaiter
  • Sturdy waterproof boots
  • Wool socks
