Our Faroe Islands Photo Workshop will start at the Vagar Airport. From here, we will drive directly to our hotel in the capital of the Faroe Islands.
We’ll spend these days exploring the most iconic locations of the Faroe Islands. From Mykines to Vidoy, explore the best spots in the main islands, such as Streymoy, Eysturoy, Kalsoy & Bordoy. We will be photographing the incredible cliffs and their amazing waterfalls, but also the wildlife and the beautiful architecture of the small villages that we will find all around these islands.
These months of the year, the sunsets will be at around 23:30 and sunrise at around 3:45. Therefore we will move after sunsets to the sunrise location, and go to sleep after that. This way, we will be able to capture the best moments of lights and spend the day exploring locations, resting, and doing edition lessons.
Today will finish our Faroe Islands Photo Workshop at the Vagar Airport.
The Faroe Islands is not part of the EU or Schengen Agreement. In most cases, you will need a valid visa to enter the Faroe Islands. Please contact your local embassy for more information.
The best time to visit is during summer, June to August. Also is the most popular time to visit the Faroe Islands. This is when you will have the best weather, with highs ranging from 15-21 degrees Celsius (60-70 degrees Fahrenheit).
We suggest to pack a variety of clothing suited to all sorts of weather (primarily cool-ish). It should be a sweater, a rainproof coat, and sturdy walking shoes. Gloves or mittens are also a good idea even during summer.
Puffins come back to the Faroe Islands from April to September. Around 1,000,000 birds breed in the Faroe Islands during the summer period. It means, this is an an ideal season to photograph many bird species other than puffins.
The best way to get to the Faroe Islands is by plane. There are daily direct flights from Copenhagen, Rejkjavik, Bergen and Edinburgh. So if you don’t live in Iceland, Denmark, Norway or Scotland, you will have to stopover in one of these countries.
