Japan: Autumn Photo Tour

Our photo tour in Autumn to Japan is an excellent opportunity to photograph the landscapes of the rising sun country during the fall colors. Our photo tour during Autumn to Japan will start at our hotel in Tokyo. We will move to Tokyo Tower for the sunset session. At night we will explore the area of Shinjuku, capturing the small alleys and doing some street photography.

Today in the morning we will drive to the area of Fuji Five Lakes. We will have time to have lunch in Lake Ashi and sunset at Chureito Pagoda. One of the most iconic photos we will take during this trip.

We’ll spend these days exploring the area of the 5 lakes around Mount Fuji, focusing on Kawaguchi lake r other lakes such as Shoji or Tanuki where we will photograph the sunrise and sunset from different locations. During the days, according to the weather, we will visit other places like Oshino Hakkai, Urui river, or Lake Ashinoko.

Today we will have time to repeat some locations in case the previous days were not successful about the weather. We can stay in the area till sunset if it’s necessary, in case we want to leave the area we will be stopping in other nice spots on the route to Matsumoto. There we will be sleeping this night, enjoying the illumination of his famous castle.

After sunrise in one of the most important Japanese castles in Matsumoto, we will come to the Jigokudani Monkey Park, where we will be able to photograph his famous monkeys taking baths in the thermal waters.

After this session, we will drive to the Gokayama where we will be photographing this typical village in the middle of the Japanese Alps.

We will photograph the sunrise from the viewpoint of the historical village of Shirakawa Go. We will be walking in this traditional Japanese village for a few hours, and for lunch, we will come to another beautiful rural village. Here we will visit a Japanese garden and narrow alleys, and start our trip to the south.

At night we will arrive in Kyoto, where we will have a break from our Autumn Japan Photo tour.

This morning we will drive to Shirahige Shrine Torii for our sunrise session. After sun appears, we will have breakfast in the area and will move to Daigo-Ji temple to visit this beautiful temple and gardens.

After we visit the north of Kyoto, we will move to the center of Kyoto to photograph the Eikando Temple, where autumn colors are impressive at this time. At last, we will move to the district of Gion in the afternoon, where we will photograph his famous streets with geishas and the main spot in Kiyomizudera.

Again, we will awake early to come to Arashiyama. Famous for his bamboo forest and also for the colors in autumn of the surrounding mountains. There, we will spend the day visiting several temples and shrines.

In the afternoon we will approach Tofukuji Temple. Here we will photograph the impressive colors of autumn and the famous Tsutenkyo Bridge. 

Today we will visit the most iconic place of Kyoto, will start the day with the early season at Fushimi Inari and its traditional doors. We will spend here a few hours till the tourists start to arrive, then we will move to Katsuo-ji temple.

At midday, we will move to Osaka. After leaving our staff at the hotel, will visit Osaka castle for sunset. We will move to the Dotonburi district to photograph the famous main avenue and taste the traditional food of this city.

We will continue our way, without missing a sunrise in the castle of Osaka. After that, he will come to visit the closest city of Nara, famous for his deers walking in the city. We will visit a few temples in the city before moving to Koyasan in the afternoon, where we will be sharing full day activities with Buddhist monks in his temple.

They will bring us his traditional dinner, and also will be joining them in his rituals where we can be doing photographs with respect to his traditions. At night, we will be exploring the cemetery to make a session of photography in this incredible ambient.

Our day will start even early than previous, we will join the morning ritual of the monks and after that share with them a breakfast. Once ready, will start our trip back to the north. During the road, we will make a stop at one of the most famous views of Nara, where autumn will bring us a colorful landscape of these mountains.

Before lunch, we will arrive at Tsumago-Juku to follow of one the ancient paths that were crossing Japan and keep the ancient houses. Here we will enjoy the landscapes and rivers of this path till the evening. During the night we will have a rest at our hotel in the village.

We will awake for sunrise in our village, photographing the first lights in this magical village. After that, and a good breakfast, we will start driving to Tokyo. On our way, we will make some stops to photograph the landscapes of Kiso valley.

Once in Tokyo, if we came with time we will approach Rikugi garden to enjoy the autumn colors. After that, we will move to one of the viewpoints of the city to photograph the sunrise from the top. During the night, we will bring you to Shibuya to enjoy & photograph the small streets of this famous district.

We will awake before sunrise, to come to the Sensō-Ji temple with the first lights of the day, when tourists still are sleeping to photograph this architectural temple in the best conditions. We will have time after that, to visit the best parks in Tokyo. Starting at Ueno Park, Zojoji temple in Shiba park, to the Ginkgo Avenue in Meiji-Jingu Gaien Park, finishing in the Meiji temple for sunrise.

We will have time this night to photograph the Scramble Kousaten in Shibuya. During a few hours during the night, we also will be walking in the closest small streets to photograph the ambient of this area.
