Swiss & French Alps Photo Tour

Join our Alps Photo Tour to the heart of the Swiss & French Alps mountain range. During this trip you will visit the most emblematic and iconic landscapes of Switzerland along with some locations in France that seem taken out of a story. We will spend 9 days touring and photographing mountains over 4000 meters, hundreds of waterfalls, amazing valleys, turquoise lakes, huge glaciers, snow-capped peaks, green hills and beautiful alpine villages. There is so much to photograph!

The tour is done on an exceptional date, when the flowers are in their maximum splendor and the rivers and waterfalls carry a great flow due to the recent thaw and the rains in the area. We will make the most of the best daylight hours and with the help of professional guides you will take unique photos. During these days, we will not do long walks, it will be simple routes, maximum 2-3 hours. Most locations are accessed without hardly walking.

Discover different viewpoints and mountains in cable cars, and trains to access some locations. As an optional activity you can take a helicopter flight over Zermatt or the Aletsch glacier. It will be an indescribable experience.

Itinerary Alps Photo Tour

Day 1 Arrive in Geneva

Pick up at Geneva airport (GVA) where will start our French & Swiss Alps Photo Tour. We will drive to the Jura Natural Park in France where we will stay for the next two nights. Depending on the arrival time, we will visit one of the waterfalls near the hotel.

Day 2 Jura National Park

We will spend the whole day visiting a series of beautiful, incredibly photogenic waterfalls. Jura is characterized by being a natural park with a lot of vegetation composed of maples, firs and beech trees covered with moss. Its thanks to the abundant rains, which provide a great flow in the rivers and waterfalls of the area in spring and summer.

Day 3 Cirque du Fer-à-Cheval

We will leave early for one of the most impressive jewels of the French Alps: Cirque du Fer-à-Cheval. We will be exploring different locations in the area. During this day, we will do a simple route through the valley. With more than thirty waterfalls fall from the highest of the mountains, you will capture some of the most photogenic waterfalls in Europe.

Day 4 Zermatt & Matterhorn

After sunrise and breakfast at the hotel, we will cross the border to Switzerland in a journey of about 3 hours. We will leave the vehicles in Täsch and take a funicular to reach the famous town of Zermatt, overlooking the Matterhorn. From there we will take the cable car up to Lake Stellisee to enjoy the sunset and stay at Fluhalp, a nearby mountain hostel with half board.

Day 5 Aletschgletcher & Sustenpass

The next morning if we are lucky we will enjoy one of the most spectacular sunrises that can be seen in the Alps, with the majestic Matterhorn dyed red. After breakfast we will return to the vehicles to know our next destination. We will climb to the largest glacier in the Alps: Aletschgletcher, 23km long.

Then we will see the sunset at Sustenpass, a mountain pass at 2200m with different viewpoints where to stop.

Day 6 Giessbach waterfalls

We will enjoy the sunrise in the Rosenlaui Valley. After breakfast we will visit the beautiful town of Brienz and the Giessbach waterfalls. In the afternoon we will move to Lauterbrunnen, the valley of the 72 waterfalls.

If the weather is good, a helicopter flight over the entire Bernese Alps is offered as an optional activity. After that, we will go up by train to Wengen where we will spend the night.

Day 7 Lauterbrunnen valley

In Wengen we will see the sunrise of the Lauterbrunnen valley from above. After breakfast we will move to Grindelwald, where we will take a cable car to First, a viewpoint with stunning views of the Bernese Alps and 4000 meter peaks such as the Eiger, Schreckhorn, Finsteraarhorn, etc.

From here we will make a simple route to Bachalpsee, a spectacular lake with many frames to photograph at sunset. We will return to First where we will spend the night in the hostel.

Day 8 Oeschinensee lake

After sunrise in First we will drive to the village of Kandersteg to go up by cable car to the famous Oeschinensee lake, of a turquoise color surrounded by giant mountains.

In the afternoon we have to say goodbye to the Alps to go to Geneva, where we will give a processing masterclass.

Day 9 End of the trip

Return to Geneva airport (GVA) where our Alps photo tour will finish.
