Information to travel

  • Can you travel to Iceland now?

Yes, with conditions. You can choose to make a quarantine of 14 days, or do a double COVID-19 test procedure along with a quarantine of 5 days.

  • Which currency is used in Iceland?

In Iceland, the currency is the Iceland Krona. You can convert your currency to the actual ratio here

Once there you can pay also all with a credit card. Although you can’t pay in euros, you can convert once there to Iceland Krona in the same airport. We suggest to change around 100-200 euros or dollars and use your travel debit card there.

  • Is safe to drive in Iceland?

We can read on the internet that to drive in Iceland is not safe. But the reality is that Iceland has a very good road, especially the Ring Road. Just to visit a few locations, you can find dirt roads, and of course to visit interior locations you can need a special vehicle. Anyway, for most of the famous locations, you can arrive easily with a normal car. During winter, and when conditions are not favorable, drive-in Iceland can be not safe. This way we recommend you visit with an expert guide during this season.

  • Do I need a Visa to visit Iceland?

No, you can visit just with your passport if you have American citizenship. Also, Iceland is inside the Schengen area, it means that you just need your national id, but we suggest also to bring your passport.

  • How to visit a doctor? Are vaccinations necessary?

If you are a European citizen we suggest getting the European Health Insurance Card. It´s free and you ask for it on the internet.
No vaccinations of any kind are required to visit Iceland.

  • Do I need to be a pro photographer?

Our tuition workshops are open to all skill levels of photographers. During our expeditions, our guides work to teach photography on-field. It helps to improve your skills from settings on the camera to post-processing.

  • Do we visit Reykjavik?

Our workshops are focus on landscape photography. We spend last night usually in Reykjavik before finish the tour. But we not make a classical tourist tour around the capital. Even if half of the population lives here, Reykjavik is not a big city.

  • If you are interested to photograph with more time, you can ask us for an extension of the trip. During the extension, we will visit also the Golden Ring.

  • What extensions do you offer?

    • Vatnajökull Glacier Ice Cave with a local professional guide
    • Golden Circle and Thingvellir National Park
